“I am in the category of being terribly vulnerable to COVID-19 as I have a serious auto-immune disease and I’m a septuagenarian.  The odds are against my survival if the virus enters my body. I take this awareness and vulnerability with me also as I enter my studio.”

"More than any time in my life I create from a place with no rules for tomorrows are unknown. I create to connect with myself, to give myself pleasure in the act of creating, and to escape the internal chatter of the startling reality we are all living with that is fraught with fear and the unknown. My goal this past year has been to start photographing women artistically in addition to my work with nature and sets I’ve created.”

“Obviously,

with the coronavirus in our midst and my current isolation and personal vulnerability, my direction had to change. I now create the spirit of the feminine with layers of garments loaded with personal history or the history of others unbeknownst to me, fabrics, flowers and twigs, found jewelry or treasures handed down by my grandmothers, or anything in my studio that beckons.”
