Second Street Gallery’s Professional Practices for Artists program is a three-session series designed to support artists at various stages of their careers by providing practical tools, knowledge, and confidence to navigate the professional art world. Held once a month in March, April, and May, this program addresses key aspects of artistic practice that are often learned informally or through trial and error. Each session combines instruction, discussion, and hands-on guidance, creating a supportive environment where artists can bolster both their creative and professional skill sets.

This program is designed for emerging and mid-career artists seeking to strengthen their professional practice, though artists at all stages are welcome. By equipping artists with practical skills and insider knowledge, Second Street Gallery continues its commitment to artist advocacy, education, and the cultivation of a thriving local and regional arts community.

By offering this program at a low cost to participants, SSG aims to reduce barriers to professional development, foster peer learning, and empower artists to better advocate for themselves and their work. Participants may attend individual sessions or the full series, based on their needs and interests. A limited number of scholarships will be available for potential participants with demonstrated need, offered at the discretion of the gallery.
