Mixed Media Play with Alexa Luna

Come join SSG on Thursday, September 22 from 6-7:30PM for a mixed-media workshop with Teeny Tiny Trifecta 5 exhibiting artist, Alexa Luna!

Artist Alexa Luna creates tangible, little worlds using found and repurposed items. Within her work, she uses processes of repetition such as the act of pushing and pulling paint into a surface, or creating layers upon layers of objects, as a way to build up textural terrains.

Taking inspiration from the imagined worlds of Luna’s work, workshop attendees will create their own unique mixed-media works using materials such as craft supplies, fabric, yarn, found objects, and trinkets. In this workshop, participants will free themselves from expectations and engage in spontaneous and tactile play to build up their own textural creations! Participants will be encouraged to bring any special found objects or artifacts that they’d like to include in their work.

The workshop is available at $10 SSG members / $15 non-members. This fee covers workshop instruction and access to all workshop materials for the activity. The workshop is limited to 12-15 attendees and will take place in the Main Gallery at SSG.

RSVP for the workshop HERE. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at info@secondstreetgallery.org.
