Create & Critique with Sam Gray

On June 16 and 23, 2021, Second Street Gallery hosted a two-part virtual workshop with illustrator, printmaker, and ROYGBIV artist Sam Gray.

Sam Gray’s creative journey in the past few years has been focused on the importance of symbolism in art and in her case, specifically exploring mysticism in communion with the natural world and the inner journey of navigating the subconscious. During this workshop, attendees explored the use of symbolism and allegory in art, in relation to addressing questions on imagination and conceptualization of symbols and surreal connections in their own artwork. Participants worked in a variety of mediums of their choosing.
