Second Street Gallery is pleased to present Inside the Artists’ Studio 2, a group exhibition featuring the work of Central Virginia-based painters, printmakers, and photographers on view in the Main Gallery from December 3, 2021 - January 22, 2022.

For this exhibition, Second Street Gallery’s Chief Curator, Kristen Chiacchia, paired one painter or printmaker with one photographer to form a long-term creative relationship. The exhibiting artist pairs included: Ashon Crawley & Benita Mayo, Meesha Goldberg & Kori Price, Lauren Moses Gordon & Courtney Coker, Akemi Ohira & Derrick J. Waller, and Abigail Wilson & Jesús Pino Aguilar. Artist pairs began collaborating on the project in summer 2021. Over the course of the past six months, photographers documented their partner artists’ studio practice and process as they created work specifically for the exhibition at Second Street Gallery. The exhibition was on view in SSG’s Main Gallery and featured an installation of photographs alongside each painter or printmaker's finished artworks.

The inaugural 2019 version and its related programming were a great success with the participating artists and the broader community. View 2019’s Inside the Artist’s Studio here.
