SSG Pop Up Salon With FUCC Artist Spotlight: Lindsay Heider Diamond - Artist As we get closer to the Pop Up Salon with FUCC tomorrow, we’re featuring some of the 12 artists who will be there. Lindsay Heider Diamond received a double BFA in both fine art/painting and graphic design but could never decide which one to ultimately pursue, so she did (and still does) both…and more. She has worked as a professional greeting card illustrator, graphic designer, art director, creative director in multimedia and print and once upon a time was an outdoor coffee cart barista in Seattle (yes, it really does rain there). She moved West to East in 2006, became a member of McGuffey Art Center in 2011 and currently occupies her time teaching art to middle school students, raising her three kids, designing her husband’s book covers, and helping McGuffey with publicity needs. All of this work she has found to be inspiring, challenging and mostly just fun. Visit her at her studio in McGuffey to see more!

Join us tomorrow October 21st from 12-5pm for our Pop Artist Salon! We will be featuring artists from the Femme Union of C’ville alongside our current exhibition of Paul Brainard and Peter Benedetti. Artwork from members of the FUCC will also be available for purchase at this time. The event will be free and open to the public. We hope to see you here!

Second Street Gallery added 4 new photos.
Second Street Gallery is currently showing the works of Peter Alexander Benedetti, one of our favorite artist for all things unconventional. One striking aspect of the exhibition includes a collection of collaborative pieces, in which Benedetti has painted over children’s drawings. In an interview with Second Street, Benedetti stated, “There is an innocence as well as a deep sophisticated abstract element to children’s drawings. By adding an extra compositional element or two they become something even more amazing”. These works will be on view until November 17th, but you can take home one of Benedetti’s collaborative pieces to hang in your own home for $150.
