Brews with a View featuring Small Town Rodeo and Wild Common. Proceeds from this event benefit both Second Street Gallery and the Front Porch's Roots and Wings Program, a free music education program for children who could otherwise not afford it. It costs $10 a person. Beer from South Street Brewery and cider from Bold Rock will be available for purchase.

Come early for a kid-friendly craft activity in the gallery from 5:30-6:30.

Small Town Rodeo:
Singer and flat picker Joe Simpson fronts this foursome, having grown up in a family steeped in bluegrass from his earliest days. Lauren Gordon brings fiddle chops and an angelic voice honed during her stint as a Nashville singer and songwriter. On mandolin and vocals is Seth Morrison, who recently found his way to Central Virginia by way of Charleston SC and Jackson MS, mastering every string instrument he found along the way. Hank Wells spent years playing in rock and blues groups and even a 50s band before finding his happy place on upright bass and backing vocals.

Wild Common:
Wild Common: original, soulful, new Appalachian music. A genre-bending mixture that defies description but is most certainly more than the sum of its parts. Featuring a reggae/ rock drummer (Rob Hubbard), a jazz bassist (Dhara Goradia), a versatile improvisor on keys (Bryan Holmes), a melt-your-face-soul singer (Davina Jackson), a fiddling astronaut (Nate Leath), and a bluegrass musician and songwriter (Brennan Gilmore).
