Charlottesville Families in Action and Second Street Gallery are joining forces to raise money to build Bennett's Village, an all abilities playground in Charlottesville. We will have beer, music, and art on the roof of Live Arts and Second Street Gallery on Wednesday, April 25 from 4:30- 6:30.
It is $10 a person and $20 a family. Food and beer will be available for purchase at the event.
Music by members of the C'ville Jazz Congregation, Brandon Walsh and Nick A. Berkin, and Deborah Guy. The beer is donated by Champion Brewing Company.
Bennett Charles McClurken-Gibney had SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). He spent most of his life overcoming obstacles and raising awareness for how inaccessible the world is. One of his greatest joys was to go to the ARC park in Richmond, a playground that allows kids of all abilities to play and just be a kid. We are raising money to build an all abilities playground in Charlottesville in honor of Bennett.
