Abstract Sponge Painting Workshop with Tina Curtis

Create abstract sponge paintings with the artist, Tina Curtis. Use real sea sponges to recreate shapes inspired by coral reefs. Each participant will create one acrylic painting during the session.
There is a $15 fee for SSG members and $25 for non-members. Ages 14 and up. Reserve your spot here.
Tina Curtis holds a BFA in Interior Design from the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. She has been creating commissioned art for design clients since 2012. Most recently Curtis has expanded her work to include a successful line of hand painted jewelry and limited edition holiday ornaments. Her work has been exhibited in Chicago, New York, and Charlottesville, in addition to being featured in literary journals and magazines across the country and in the United Kingdom. Curtis currently lives and works in Charlottesville, Virginia.
This workshop is held on the occasion of the exhibition, "Radiolaria & Reef." The exhibition opens at Second Street Gallery on June 7th, 2019. An opening reception will be held on First Friday, June 7 from 5:30-7: 30 pm with artist remarks at 6:30 pm.
