Signs of Change Workshop | Lou Haney

POSTED ON 9.15.2018

Join us in the gallery on Tuesday, September 25th from 6-9pm for the next edition of Signs of Change. This week's workshop will be lead by local artist and Second Street Gallery's own Outreach Coordinator, Lou Haney.

For this workshop, the amazing Charlene Green from the Office of Human rights will lead a thought-provoking introduction to the untold histories of Charlottesville’s Black community. Then, Lou Haney will lead us in an art-making exercise to illustrate these histories. The completed works will be displayed in various exhibitions around the city.

We’re proud to partner with For Freedoms to inspire civic engagement in our community.

This event is free and open to the public.

Support Second Street Gallery’s Season 45!

POSTED ON 9.12.2018

For the past 2 years, SSG has been the recipient of a generous grant from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts that assists with funding for our exhibition season and related programming. This year, our multi-year grant is ending, and we are required to take a year off before applying for additional funding. Unfortunately, this leaves an enormous gap in our Season 45 exhibition budget. That’s why we are asking for assistance from you to try to raise at least $45,000 for SEASON 45!

Click HERE to read more and to pick up a perk of just make a donation on our Indiegogo page! Help us reach our goal by November 2nd! And help us keep our doors open for another 45 years!
