The small-scale encaustic works in Taliaferro Logan’s series, Latitude/Longitude,
express the abstract nature of memory. By using sculptural forms with landscape,
directional, and time-based references, Logan confronts themes such as absence,
memory loss, and myth made solid within the monumental frames that engulf them.
Taliaferro Logan received her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MFA
from The Art Institute of Chicago. An interdisciplinary artist, her work has been exhibited
in The Netherlands, Washington DC, Chicago and New York. She lives in Roanoke, VA
where she teaches and is the Director of the Olin Hall Galleries at Roanoke College.
