Catherine Barber

Catherine Barber received her BA in Art History from Carleton College, Northfield, MN in 2003. While a student, she interned at Creative Time and Magnum Photos in New York City. In 2006, she completed her MA in the History of Art and Architecture at the University of Virginia. In 2005, she was the Luzak Fellow at the UVa Art Museum, where, as assistant to the curator, she helped to organize the exhibition Complicit! Contemporary American Art and Mass Culture, as well as organizing smaller exhibitions throughout the year. Catherine joined SSG in 2006 as the Membership & Outreach Coordinator, and has served as the Membership & Development Associate since 2007.

Leah Couch

Leah Couch joined SSG as the Gallery Manager in September, 2007. Leah received a BFA with an emphasis on printmaking from Clemson University. While living in Charleston, South Carolina, she worked as an Assistant Manager at Raymond Clark Gallery, before taking on the role of Development Coordinator for Charles Towne Montessori School.


Theresa Owen

Theresa Owen graduated from The College of William and Mary with a BA in Anthropology. Before joining SSG in 2007 as the Communications & Outreach Coordinator, Theresa worked as a research
associate at McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC).


Arlene Page
Bookkeeper

Arlene Page has been the Second Street Gallery bookkeeper since 2006. She has lived in Charlottesville since 1983, volunteering with many local nonprofit organizations. She also works at Guesthouses Reservation Service in Charlottesville. Arlene can often be found at Wolftrap Farm in Esmont, VA, where she is a dressage rider.
